3 Ways Demons Enter Someone

Demons operate like flies or mosquitoes. If you open a window, these bugs will fly right in. They cannot read signs that say, “Stay out.” Demons don’t either. Now, just because a mosquito gets into someone’s home, that doesn’t mean they own the house, however, they can cause disruptions.

I believe Christians can have whatever they want to have. While a demon cannot own a Christian, a Christian can choose to open the door to demonic influences.

Demons look for opportunities to invade a believer’s life. Here are the main ways demons can enter.

3 Ways Demons Enter

1. Inheritance

Demons can enter through the bloodline, often referred to as generational curses. This is when sins, patterns of behavior, or spiritual influences are passed down from one generation to another. It’s not uncommon to see repeated struggles with anger, addiction, or fear in families.

This type of influence can also begin in the womb. For instance, if a child is rejected by their parents while still in the womb, this can create an open door to the spirit of rejection. The influence of this demon will then manifest itself later in the life of that child as feelings of unworthiness, abandonment, or difficulty forming healthy relationships.

It’s important to understand that generational curses don’t just lead to emotional struggles. They can also cause physical or spiritual struggles or ailments that can also be evident in the family line. Recognizing these generational curses and breaking their power through prayer and repentance is the key if you want to shut these doors.

2. Intrusion

Intrusion typically happens when there is an invasion of demonic influence, usually during childhood or adolescence. This can be situations like the separation of the family, neglect, or abuse. As unfortunate as it is, traumatic experiences create emotional wounds and vulnerabilities, which often gives way for a demon.

For example, a child growing up in an unstable household may experience fear, anger, or a sense of helplessness. These emotions, if left unresolved, can become footholds for spiritual oppression. The trauma opens a door, and the enemy takes advantage of that opening to gain influence in the person’s life.

This can be very damaging because it often happens when the individual is least able to recognize or resist it. This type of open door allows the demon to provoke struggles with trust, feelings of hopelessness, or patterns of self-destructive behavior. When someone has dealt with traumatic experiences, addressing the root cause of the trauma through prayer and counseling is an important step to closing these doors and finding true freedom.

3. Involvement

The third way demons enter is through direct involvement in sin or occult practices. This includes unrepented habitual sin, like porn, substance abuse, or involvement in fornication or adultery. This not only grieves the Holy Spirit but also open doors to demonic influences when we we willingly refuse to repent.

Involvement in the occult is another major way demons enter someone’s life. This includes consulting psychics, using Ouija boards, engaging in witchcraft, or even unknowingly bringing cursed objects into your home. Many people assume these things are harmless or done out of curiosity, but they create spiritual openings that invite demonic spirits to enter and influence.

It’s also important to note that actions like abortion or drug use can serve as spiritual gateways. These experiences create deep wounds and spiritual consequences that demons love to use as an entry point into someone’s life.

Conclusion

It’s important to understand that a demons involvement in someone’s life doesn’t mean total possession or control, but it can lead to harassment or bondage in specific areas of life, such as relationships, finances, or emotional well-being.

Demons cannot own a Christian, but they can influence and harass them when doors are left open. Recognizing these open doors is the first step towards your freedom.
