Helping Families in Ukraine During War

In February 2022, the charity work of VSM was born. The war in Ukraine was what stirred it. Being Ukrainian myself, I could not just watch from the sidelines while my homeland was suffering. From the very beginning, we stepped in to serve those who were displaced and broken.

Since then, our charity efforts have grown to reach people in different parts of the world. But Ukraine has never left our hearts. We continue to serve and partner with ministries there, standing with families who have lost so much.

The Crisis Families Face

The war is not slowing down. As tragedies continue to strike, we stepped in again this week to help with a situation that hit close to home. A missile attack destroyed an apartment building, leaving families with nothing but rubble. In one night, everything they owned was gone.

Among those affected are two pastors who have faithfully shepherded their churches for years, and a widow whose children are actively serving in ministry. By the mercy of God, their lives were spared, but their homes were completely destroyed.

These are not strangers, they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. They have poured out their lives for the Kingdom, and now they need the body of Christ to stand with them.

Carrying Each Other’s Burdens

When one part of the body suffers, we all feel it. That is why we cannot look away when believers are hurting. Ukraine is more than a country in conflict. It is home to pastors, mothers, children, and faithful Christians who continue to worship and serve even under fire. Their faith inspires me, and their resilience is a testimony of God’s grace. But they need help to keep going.

How You Can Help

Here are a few simple but powerful ways to come alongside these families:

  1. Pray. Ask God to strengthen them, protect their children, and give them courage.
  2. Give. Your support can provide shelter, food, and essentials for families who lost everything.
  3. Share. Tell their story so others can stand with Ukraine too.

Prayers lift burdens. Generosity meets needs. Love restores hope

A Call to the Church

This is our moment to rise as the Church. We can help these families get back on their feet. We can make sure their children are not left without shelter. And we can show the world that God’s family does not abandon its own in the middle of hardship.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.”

The war has taken homes, possessions, and even lives. But it cannot take away hope. The light of Christ shines brightest in the darkest valleys. Together, we can remind these families that they are not forgotten, and that the people of God are standing with them.

Would you prayerfully consider joining us today? Your gift can bring shelter, food, and hope. Most of all, it will tell these families: You are not alone. We are with you. And Jesus is for you.
