Every year new predictions about the rapture come and go. This time, the focus has turned to September 23, 2025, which falls on the Feast of Trumpets. While the Feast of Trumpets points us to Christ’s return, it does not mark that specific date as the day of the rapture. Instead, it calls us to wake up, to stay ready, to live holy, and to keep our eyes on Jesus.
God has worked through Israel’s feast days in the past.
- Jesus was crucified on Passover.
- He was buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
- He rose from the dead on the Feast of Firstfruits.
- The Holy Spirit was poured out and the church was born on Pentecost.
These were divine appointments, not random accidents, and because of that believers now look ahead to the remaining fall feasts: Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles. Each of these feasts continues to reveal God’s unfolding plan. In the same way, the Feast of Trumpets points forward to Christ’s return. However, it does not give us September 23, 2025 as the date of the rapture. Rather, it reminds us to wake up, to stay ready, to live holy, and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
What Jesus Said About Dates
The Bible gives us two very clear answers.
- No one knows the day or the hour. Jesus makes it plain in Matthew 24:36: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” If Jesus says no one knows, then no one knows.
- Certain events must come first. Paul declares in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 that the man of sin must be revealed before Christ returns, and that has not happened yet. So any prediction that sets September 23rd as the date flat-out ignores Scripture.
How We Should Live
If we cannot set the day, then let’s do what Scripture tells us.
- Win souls. Jesus gave us the Great Commission, not a date to obsess over. Share the gospel boldly and urgently.
- Live ready. Treat every day as the day you might meet the Lord, whether through His return or stepping into eternity.
- Walk in holiness. 1 John 3:3 says, “Everyone who has this hope purifies himself.” Pursue purity in thought, word, and action.
- Encourage others. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 calls us to comfort one another with the hope of His coming. Use that hope to lift, not to frighten.
Final Thoughts
So, will the rapture happen on September 23, 2025? The answer from Scripture is simple. No one knows the day or the hour. Chasing dates will only bring disappointment. What we do know is that Jesus is coming again. That is certain. The question is not whether He will come but whether we are ready when He does.
Our hope is not in a date on the calendar. Our hope is in Christ Himself. Until that moment arrives, we are called to live with expectancy, to stay faithful, and to keep our eyes fixed on Him.
