There are moments in life when everything shifts so quickly you don’t even have time to process it. One day people are in their homes, going through normal routines, and the next day war forces them to run with whatever they can carry, trying to find safety. If you’ve never seen that up close, it’s hard to fully grasp, but right now that’s the reality for many families in Lebanon.
The situation has been escalating, and it has left hundreds of thousands of people displaced. Entire areas have emptied, and families are now scattered across the city, staying wherever they can. When stability disappears like that, even the most basic things like food, warmth, and rest suddenly become a daily struggle. You don’t always realize how fragile normal life is until it’s gone.
As the body of Christ, we are not called to stand by and watch our brothers and sisters suffer. There is something in us that should respond when we see this kind of need. We are called to step in, to bring relief where we can, and to be the hands and feet of Jesus in moments like these.
Serving Families in Lebanon Right Now
We’ve been working with Joel and Elisa, who are on the ground in Lebanon. They’ve been faithfully serving there, building relationships and representing Christ in a place where the Gospel is not widely known. But recently, their focus has shifted because the need has become urgent.
Near the Beirut port, many displaced families have gathered. Some came with almost nothing. No blankets, no food, no place to stay. With the rain and cold nights, the situation has become even more difficult. It doesn’t take long for things to feel heavy when people are sleeping outside without protection.
They are going out daily to serve families in the area, stepping into places where people have been displaced and left with very little. What they’re bringing may seem simple at a glance, but right now it means everything. Food, water, blankets, pillows, mattresses, and tents are not just helpful items. They are what these families depend on to get through each day.
For many of them, this is their entire reality at the moment. This is not a temporary inconvenience or a short disruption. This is what they have to live with. These items are what allow them to rest, to stay covered, and to have something between them and the elements. It’s the difference between lying exposed and having even a small sense of shelter and stability.
Tents, especially ones that can hold through the rain, become incredibly important in conditions like this. When the weather shifts, it reveals just how vulnerable people are without proper covering. Something as simple as staying dry through the night becomes a real need, not a comfort.
And what continues to stand out in all of this is not just the need, but the response. People are not only receiving help, they are encountering the love of Christ in a way that feels real to them. When someone shows up in a moment like that, when everything feels uncertain and heavy, it leaves a mark that goes deeper than words.

The Reality Christians Face in Pakistan
At the same time, believers in Pakistan are facing a different kind of pressure. While it may not look like war on the surface, surrounding conflict is already pushing into their daily lives. Rising instability is increasing costs, tightening resources, and placing even greater strain on those who are already struggling.
Right now, prices are rising quickly, especially fuel. And in a country where many families are already struggling to survive, even small increases begin to change everything. Pakistan is a third-world country, and for many, life already revolves around making it through the day. Rising fuel prices make transportation harder, drive up food costs, and place a heavier burden on families.
At the same time, there are things happening behind the scenes that carry even more weight. There has been a rise in forced conversions and abductions, especially targeting Christian girls. Recently, laws have been passed that allow young girls, even as young as 13, to be married, often against their will. For Christian families, this creates a deep sense of fear because their daughters are especially vulnerable in this environment.
We are working alongside local missionaries to help meet the practical needs of families on the ground. Food, water, and basic support are being provided to those who are struggling to survive under this growing pressure.
If you sit with that for a moment, you begin to understand the kind of weight people are living under. It’s not just one issue. It’s multiple layers at once. Economic strain, legal vulnerability, and spiritual opposition all coming together. And if these conditions continue, many families simply will not be able to sustain themselves.
But even in the middle of that, the Church continues to move forward. Mission work is still happening. The Gospel is still being preached. And believers are still standing, even when it comes at a cost.
How to Pray
This is where prayer becomes essential. It is one of the most powerful ways we stand with those who are suffering.
Pray for Lebanon:
- For continued provision to reach families who have been displaced and are living without stability
- For strength, grace, and endurance for the workers serving on the ground each day
- For more laborers to be raised up, people willing to go and bring both practical help and the Gospel
Pray for Pakistan:
- That the effects of surrounding conflict would not continue to worsen the situation
- For freedom from the pressure and influence that continues to oppress believers
- For protection over young girls who are especially vulnerable
- For families to receive the resources they need to survive and remain strong in their faith
How You Can Be Part of This
As VSM Charity, we partner directly with trusted ministries on the ground in both Lebanon and Pakistan. This allows us to respond quickly and meet real needs, bringing food, water, shelter, and support to families who are walking through crisis.
When you partner with VSM Charity, you are not giving into something distant. You are directly helping families receive what they need to survive. You are strengthening believers who are standing in difficult conditions. And you play a direct role in opening doors for the Gospel in places where it is rarely heard.
If this stirred something in you, I want to encourage you to consider becoming a monthly partner. That consistency allows us to keep showing up, not just once, but continually, in the places where it matters most.
Even in the middle of war and uncertainty, God is still moving. And together, we get to be part of it.
