These Signs Mean You’re In A New Season

Just as seasons change from winter to spring as a normal part of life, it’s not uncommon for our lives to undergo spiritual shifts as well. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9, “We shall reap in due season, if we do not lose heart.”

If you’re sensing a shift, it could be that God is transitioning you into something new. Here are ten signs that point to a new season in your life.

10 Signs to Look Out For

1. Shifts in your desires and priorities

One of the first signs that your season may be shifting can be felt inwardly. Take time to pay attention to any changes in your passions and interests. Philippians 2:13 tells us that it is God who works in us to will and to do His good pleasure. In other words, sometimes what used to excite you no longer does because the Lord is working in our hearts to redirect our focus.

2. Doors are closing but new ones are opening

Another clear sign of transition is when familiar doors shut and unexpected ones open. Revelation 3:8 says, “See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.” Sometimes the Lord is seemingly closing doors of opportunity in one area only for us to see another door open elsewhere. During these shifts, the right doors will often carry God’s peace.

3. Any unusual opposition

Next, it’s not uncommon for the new season to come with new battles (1 Corinthians 16:9). Spiritual resistance often signals that there is a spiritual promotion coming. Don’t be surprised if warfare intensifies, trust in the Lord that the shift will bring about something for His glory.

4. A sense of restlessness

Another key sign is when internally you feel like you’ve stayed too long in one place. Now, this is not just a momentary dissatisfaction or discomfort. Rather it’s a persistent inner feeling. This may be the Lord prompting you to move. Take time to pray and discern the Lord’s will if you sense this (Deuteronomy 1:6-7).

5. Relationships changing

As you grow, so do your connections. It’s not uncommon that a marking sign of transition is the physical absence of some people and the introduction of others. Don’t try and keep people in your life that are only meant to be there for a season. If key relationships in your life are shifting, God may be repositioning you or them. During this, it may feel like you’re in a loss but trust that God knows what He is doing.

6. New levels of responsibility

I would also encourage you to be on the lookout for times when greater responsibility is being introduced. In the Bible, we see this principle in play. When we’re faithful with a little, we are often entrusted with more (Luke 16:10). If that’s the case for you, don’t feel overwhelmed. At first, it may be intimidating but it’s stretching your faith and preparing you for more.

7. A renewed hunger for God

An increased hunger for the Lord can also be a sign of change. When your appetite for God increases, so does your capacity. Psalm 42:1 says, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.” In this season shift, you will sense a pull to spend more time with the Lord–not out of condemnation but out of a deep desire to know Him more. I would encourage you to give in. Allow Him to guide you where He wants.

8. God’s peace despite uncertainty

Peace is also a powerful indicator of change. When you feel calm despite not having all the answers, it’s often because God is leading. Philippians 4:7 describes this sort of feeling as “the peace that passes understanding.”

9. Change of financial supply

Another key is when the provision in your life or your home changes. In other words, God remains your source, but how He provides may have changed. In the Bible, when Elijah’s brook dried up or when manna stopped for Israel, it marked a new season for them. In the same way, I would encourage you to pay attention to where the provision is flowing and when it changed. These may be indicators that God may be directing you somewhere new.

10. A call to step out in faith

Finally, a new season often requires us to take steps that can be out of our comfort zone or unknown. Like Abraham in Hebrews 11:8, you may not know all the details, but God is prompting you to move. In these seasons our faith must take action. If you feel the pull to move, change jobs, or start a business even when everything isn’t mapped out, trust God and take the step of faith. He will guide you.

Ultimately, whatever season you’re in, God is with you. Let Him guide you, grow you, and strengthen you for what’s ahead.
