Do You Have a Demon If You’re Addicted to Porn?

Pornography may seem harmless to some, but if you keep coming back to it even after you swore you wouldn’t, or if you feel the pull even when your heart wants freedom, then you’re not just battling your flesh you’re in a spiritual war. And the truth is, you may not just need more discipline, you may need deliverance. Just like Samson and Delilah, the enemy doesn’t always come with chains. Sometimes he comes with comfort but the end it always ends in bondage. Here are some things to consider if you feel you’re bound in this area.

The Longer You Stay, the Stronger the Chains

The Bible never says Samson slept with Delilah (Judges 16). He was just in love with her. And a lot of people think, “Well, I’m not actually doing anything—it’s just pictures, it’s just video.” But it’s still about seeking pleasure, arousing the flesh, and enjoying the fantasy. That’s what Samson did. He was emotionally attached, and that opened the door.

But while Samson was enjoying the pleasure, the Philistines were hiding in the house. In other words, every time you say, “I’ll stop tomorrow” the enemy is in the house.

In the story of Samson, we see that at first, he broke free, but then Delilah tied him up again and again until one day, he couldn’t break loose. That’s what porn does. At first, you can choose to stop. Then it gets stronger. And, when the enemy sees the right moment, he takes your eyes, your strength, your clarity and leaves you bound and going in circles.

It’s important to remember that porn is not just pleasure. It’s a setup and demons are in the room. They wait and then they attach before they destroy.

How to Know The Difference Between the Flesh and a Demon

When dealing with this topic, one of the questions I get asked the most people whether porn is a flesh problem or a demon problem. I like to answer this in a very simple manner.

If you’re disciplining yourself by fasting, repenting, and avoiding triggers but the urge still controls you, it’s not just the flesh anymore. If you’ve done everything right like blocked the apps, set up accountability, prayed but it still keeps coming back, then it’s not just self-control. It’s a demon.

In other words, when you remove the access points and you’re still tormented, it’s spiritual. If you no longer want it, but it still drives you, it’s spiritual.

Remember you can’t cast out your flesh, and you can’t crucify a demon.

Final Thoughts

Now that you have identified whether it is your flesh or whether you may need to find freedom through deliverance, I want to encourage you by saying that this isn’t the end. In fact, I believer that this is just the beginning of your freedom. Jesus wants to set you free, and not just through more rules but by breaking spiritual chains. Pornography is not just a bad habit. It’s a battlefield, but you don’t have to stay bound.

If the enemy has been hiding in the room, today is the day to kick him out. The Lord is calling you to wholeness, purity, and freedom. If you would like to go through some deliverance prayers, you can do so by watching my YouTube videos. I pray for grace as you walk your path towards freedom.
