The Tragic Turn: Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

In March 2020, Robert’s life took a tragic turn when he suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. At the time, he worked tirelessly as a dedicated police officer who loved his job and the thrill of it. One fateful evening, as he was on duty in his patrol car, the lethal gas silently permeated the vehicle, affecting his health. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the poison had already led to a traumatic brain injury. “At some point, I tried to quit drinking. I decided to fast and go to God for help. While I was fasting, I got attacked by a demonic entity that looked like a more robust version of me. During the encounter, I was physically glued to the floor and screaming. A few moments later, what I could only describe as an angel also appeared. I didn’t see him, but I felt his large presence. The demonic entity immediately fled, and the Angel told me to get up, but I couldn’t. Then, he supernaturally lifted me off the ground, turned me vertically, and placed me on my feet. My wife, frozen with fear, witnessed me screaming and supernaturally brought to my feet and said there was no way I could have physically done that.”

The Deepening Struggle: Losing Control

After that encounter, the drinking addiction worsened. Robert says:

The power of that demon over me was so strong that it controlled my body. I watched myself involuntarily go out and purchase alcohol to consume. I would also have unjustified bursts of anger at my wife and seizures. One time, I accidentally walked into a strip club, mistaking it for a regular bar. If I had been sober, I would never have done such a thing. When I realized where I was, I left in shock… I don’t have many clear memories of those times.”

The Role of Faithful Support: A Wife’s Unwavering Faith

Robert’s downfall had also affected his wife. She knew that this was not like her husband, and she did everything she could to support and encourage him. I wanted to get up and run, but my wife insisted I fight it and stay put. I had to replay the prayer again, repeating it after you, renouncing the demons and ordering them out in Jesus’ name. Whenever you said ‘Holy Spirit fire,’ I would get shooting pains. It went on until I collapsed, exhausted. After the second round of prayers, I felt relief and joy, and for the first time in about two years, I felt like myself again. Moreover, I received the gift of speaking in tongues sometime after my deliverance.”

Immediately after his deliverance, Robert experienced a profound sense of relief and joy for the first time in years as he felt restored and at peace. The addiction was gone, and he no longer needed to drink. His anger subsided, and his anxiety and depression lifted.

Transformation: From Despair to Disciple

Today, Robert’s mental and physical well-being has shown remarkable improvement, resulting in medical clearance from his doctors to rejoin the police force after a four-year hiatus following the accident.
